Kilsby Preschool is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We expect all our staff, volunteers and visitors to share this commitment and maintain a vigilant and safe environment for our children. It is key to remember that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and we have clear policies and procedures in place to ensure that we work continuously with parents and carers to preserve the safety and wellbeing of our children. All of Kilsby Preschool's safeguarding policies and procedures are available on request.

As well as protecting children from deliberate harm and neglect, our safeguarding responsibilities also relate to broader aspects of care including preserving the children's health and safety and well-being including their mental health, meeting the needs of children who have medical conditions, special educational needs and/or disabilities and providing first aid when needed. All of our staff have enhanced DBS checks and receive appropriate and regularly updated safeguarding and first aid training. Our committee members are also DBS checked and are registered with Ofsted.

We ask parents and carers to report any safeguarding concerns to Nikki Chalkley or Susan Hussey, our designated safeguarding leads, so that we can provide support and guidance and, where necessary, access external agency support. If you have any safeguarding concerns during the holidays and you need support, you are advised to contact the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) and Child Protection Team on 0300 126 1000. If a child is in immediate danger, left alone, or missing, you should contact the police and/or an ambulance directly by phoning 999.
